Jackson Mississippi Snake Situation: My name is George and I live in Jackson MS. We recently purchased a home that has been vacant for a few years. When we did the home inspection we found numerous snake skins in the attic. I was told that all I needed to do was to put out mice traps and the snakes would leave. We did that and last night my wife and daughter were watching TV and heard something moving. They looked up and saw a snake looking at them from the molding around the top of the fire place chimney. They were pretty freaked out. I had also seen a snake in the yard. I think they are black snakes. Can you put me in touch with someone who might be able to help me with these visitors?

Hi I went to your webpage and was very helpful. I saw that you mentioned that identify snake skins for free. We found an over 4ft snake skin in the garage. We have 5 and 8 year old boys so a bit concerned. We have a lot of woods (in fairfax virginia) around us and property across from us has a pond. I am just not sure if poisonous. Looking through garage and have not found it. Attaching pictures in hopes you can confirm what type of snake it could be. Also attaching picture of snake in our stairwell last year that disappeared by the time my husband got to it. I just was not sure what it is? Worm snake? Anything appreciated.
