Elizabeth New Jersey Snake Situation: Hi, We hope you can help us or give us some information. My wife and I live in New Jersey and are both age 80 We purchased an old home in the shore area only to find that the foundadion is of a brown stone called "jersey stone" and has many cracks and holes in it. Small (12" ) snakes, seem to be black/brown and garden type variety, have been getting into our basement through the cracks. We are somewhat limited in our income as well as our ability to climb. However, I purchased a case of the "foam in a can". It expands and becomes hard after you fill in the holes (particularly around the pipes and wires going from the basement up into the home). I also used the same foam to fill in the cracks and holes in the foundadtion stone fron inside the basement but I do not know if this will hold if it gets wet. The basement seems dry and has a cement floor. My main question is - Is there any spray or dry repellant that will keep snakes from crossing treated areas ? I was told to use moth balls but a lot of people told me they do not work with snakes. Do you have any experience with this situation. Please respond if you have time. Regards, William
