Chicago Snake Removal
Illinois has an abundance of snakes, from venomous pit vipers like
copperheads or rattlers, to harmless snakes like rat snakes and garter
snakes. Many of these snakes live in urban or neighborhood settings in
the city of Chicago.
I have spent my career talking with hundreds of snake removal guys
throughout the USA, and I myself have personally trained close to 20 so
far. In the city of Chicago, I recommend Scott at Windy City or Angel at
Accurate Pest, who I know personally, and who I trained. They can usually come out same-day, often very quickly, to
catch your unwanted snake(s).

I like this wildlife removal company, and I think they are your best bet
for snake control in Chicago. If he is not available, you can do a search
for a different Chicago snake removal company, but be sure you are
comfortable with their service and prices before you hire. Chicago snake
control is of course a specialty field, and not every expert in you hire
is the same - you don't want to hire a snake exterminator or pest
control company, but a specialty Illinois wild animal removal professional.
Snake Tip: How do snakes get in the house -
Most snakes enter a home through a cracked foundation or through a damaged area in the building. Despite common belief, some snakes can climb, so opening at any level of the home are potential entrance points. Remember that snakes will look for a place where they have access to warmth and shade. This is why rocks and foundations are so popular. The snake can bask in the sun during the cool part of the day and can escape the heat by slithering into the crack. If there are weeds or thick garden plants near the foundation, the snake will also have cover and abundant food. Unfortunately, sometimes the snakes manage to get inside the home. There is nothing appealing about the inside of a home to a snake. They are not like rodents which actively seek living space with people. Snakes are often inside by accident. They need to be removed and the home needs to be repaired to prevent more snakes from find the same route inside. Catching a snake can be difficult, and you never want to make the attempt unless you know for certain the animal is not venomous. Snakes can strike quickly and over an impressive distance. IF you do not know what type of snake you are dealing with, call a professional.
Chicago Reader Emails:
Hi there, I have a question for you. I don't need a removal it is just a question about something that I saw. Ok here goes....I was driving my school bus this morning about 6:30 am and something caught my eye. It was a snake going across the center line. It was still dark out but I could see the body and it was shinny black zig zagging like snakes do, but the thing that was so strange to me was its eyes were glowing blue. Now I have seen snakes before. Can't recall if I have ever seen one right before sun up but I have never seen glowing blue eyes before. The eyes were at the front of its face it seemed and not on the sides of the head. As you can tell I don't know much about them so maybe many of them have eyes in front. So to get to the actual question do snakes have a reflectiveness to there eyes that can make them seem like they are glowing and blue? Also if they do what type of snake do you think it could have been? Thank yo
for your time and answers. Tracy, West Chicago (near Aurora)
Not sure on the species, but sure, all animals have reflective retinas that glow when light shines on them.
