Birmingham Alabama Snake Situation: To whom it may concern, I just wanted you to know that this am, I was awoken by the squeals of birds on my 3rd floor apt. balcony. When I looked out the sliding door, I saw a snake being attacked by parent birds as it was hanging by half a body length out of the hanging basket. The snake in the hanging flower basket ate three baby chicks from their nest before I could get a broom and remove it from the basket and throw it off the balcony. It scurried off unharmed. I held it down long enough to see what the snake looked like and on the computer it turned out to be a rat snake. How did it know the nest was there? and why did the snake come three stories to get to this nest? Cynthia

Hi My name is Trish: We live Lee County FL, in the country. We have recently built our house and moved in, in March this year. Tonight we saw a snake inside our house? It was a small snake, but a snake none the less. It was in my 3 yr old daughters room and she saw it. I am freaking out!!! is there something we can do to prevent ever seeing a snake again especially in our home? Please call us at home or Cell phone and ask for Wayne (my husband). My husband was also wondering if there has been an increase in snakes this year? He has been noticing a lot himself. Is there a reason for that? Thank you , Please contact us ASAP - Trish

my girlfriends dad has a rather large snake that he does not want anymore. Its obvious. at least to me, that its bigger than they had expected it to get. I personally am more worried about my girlfriends safety at this house with this thing living in it. Is there anything that can be done to get rid of it? Or somewhere we can send it where it will be either taken care of, or the other way of it being taken care of? I am by no means an animal hater, but certain animals are NOT MEANT for the household. Please get back to me asap

Common problem. Some people let pet snakes go into the wild, where they starve to death. Contact a local pet store or herpetologist and try to give it away.
