Allentown Pennsylvania Snake Situation: Last night I was reading your web page about snakes...I saw a comment about if a photo of a snake skin was sent to you that you would identify it. I can't seem to find that again this am so thought I'd take a chance and see if this was the correct email. This is pics of a partial snake skin I found coming out of the base of a tree at the corner of my deck. The tree is hollowed where it meets the dirt. I shined a flashlight down in the hole last night and it appeared to be more skin down in the hole but before I could get out there this am to try to get more of it out of the hole or see if the snake was still in there my husband got a stick and shoved dirt and poked in the hole covering and probably demolishing what was left of it. Our yard in Bethlehem PA stays very well groomed and I have two large dogs in the yard at all times. Several years ago our dog was bitten by what the vets said was a copperhead but it was like 10:30 at night and I never saw the snake...just the area of the two black marks on the dog after the vet shaved its leg and the sickness and swelling.....anyway...any help you could offer would be great. Thanks

I am from Tzaneen a small town in Limpopo, South Africa. I now live in Easton PA. I got the skin this morning as i was sweeping the yard. it was between the brick crumbs that are outside the paving next 2 our old fridge. please email the response back to me as soon as possible. i am at school and cellphones are not allowed during the last trimester of the year.

Hi. I came across your site when I was looking for snake info with my almost 5 year old. He is interested in all animals and snakes shedding was the latest thing we had to look up. :) I had caught a desert king a couple of weeks ago for the kids to see (we then turned it back loose), we saw snakes at a family night at a museum, and now finding the skin he is fascinated with snakes! I don't know if you will be able to tell anything from the pics, but figured it wouldn't hurt to send them.
