Albany New York Snake Situation: Hi David Just want to tell you what a great job you have done on educating people on wild life! I live in Albany NY on the south area of NSW in the mountains..We have 3 most venomous snakes you can think of.. yap!! lol yes I dont like them either,just yesterday I was in one of the shed on my property, one where I dont go in..I have just moved here so the winter is on and I have to get the property snake ready for spring-summer..if you know what I mean..well to my surprise a baby brown snake had very cleverly use an old strip of rusted steal to make it look like it. Lucky I saw it as it was in defense mode..I backed away slowly..even though it is small the poison could kill me. The last people who lived here left the place in a mess, so Im working fast to sort out what needs to be done. On close inspection there is some rat poo so unfortunately I will have to bait,to make sure I don't have brown snakes here around the house,one snake I never want to deal with and verdant they are here. The locals have told me that there is a red belly black snake that live in the creek which runs long side of my property, when I see it im not sure if I should have it removed? as they keep the brown & tiger snake population down.What concerns me is I have a little dog. I have penned her in on the back patio and some grass area with chicken wire..we also have large pythons and they will take my dog..I come home late from work and she wants to go out side to do her thing, is it safe for me to say to supervise her in her pen? Thanks for all the tips and I come to your site to remind me of the precautions I need to take at all times.Today the lawn guy is here keeping my property grass down,a big must. wood has been left in a heap and I will proceed with caution. The thing I need to do and almost forgot is to find a snake handler just in case I need one.Thanks again
